Happy International Yog Day 2024
Happy International Yoga Day 2024! International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on June 21st. It’s a day dedicated to raising awareness about the many benefits of practicing yoga, a discipline that originated in ancient India and encompasses physical, mental, and spiritual practices. Whether you’re a seasoned yogi or just starting out, today is a perfect day to embrace the practice and its positive impacts on your well-being. Namaste!

Yoga is a diverse practice with many different styles and approaches. Here are some of the main types of yoga:
- Hatha Yoga: Often considered a gentle introduction to the basic yoga postures. It focuses on physical poses (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation (dhyana).
- Vinyasa Yoga: Known for its dynamic and flowing sequences that connect movement with breath. It is often more physically challenging than Hatha yoga.
- Ashtanga Yoga: A rigorous style of yoga that follows a specific sequence of postures and is similar to Vinyasa yoga, but with a set series of poses.
- Iyengar Yoga: Emphasizes precise alignment and uses props like belts, blocks, and wall ropes to help practitioners achieve the correct form.
- Bikram Yoga: Also known as hot yoga, it consists of a set series of 26 challenging poses performed in a room heated to around 105°F (40°C).
- Kundalini Yoga: Focuses on awakening the kundalini energy through breath control, meditation, and chanting, along with physical postures.
- Yin Yoga: A slower-paced practice that involves holding poses for longer periods, often several minutes, to target deep connective tissues and increase flexibility.
- Restorative Yoga: Uses props to support the body in poses for extended periods, promoting deep relaxation and stress relief.
- Power Yoga: A vigorous and fitness-based approach to Vinyasa yoga, emphasizing strength and endurance.
- Sivananda Yoga: Follows a set structure that includes pranayama (breathing exercises), classic asanas, and relaxation, often combined with a vegetarian diet and positive thinking.
- Jivamukti Yoga: Combines vigorous physical practice with adherence to five central tenets: scripture, devotion, non-violence, music, and meditation.
- Anusara Yoga: Focuses on alignment but also incorporates a philosophy of celebrating the heart and the intrinsic goodness in all beings.
Each type of yoga offers unique benefits and can cater to different preferences, fitness levels, and goals.
